Though this will seem much more of a rockabilly blog than anything, I don’t consider myself rockabilly. It’s not because I don’t have a car with wings, own a zoot suit (or any suit for that matter,) or have an affinity for art deco or bakelite. 
I’ve always been one to go against the grain. Never letting anyone or anything tell me what to do or what not to do. Always standing by what I believe in and having to stick up for myself as a kid.
As much as I think giving yourself a title is pretty self indulgent, I’d consider myself a modern day greaser more than anything. 
It’s not about smoking cigarettes, owning a motorcycle or working on cars. Though I wouldn’t mind owning a motorcycle, and really plan on working on cars as soon as I get my ‘65 Mustang. It’s not just about white tee shirts, singing on top of cars, or tight pants. 
It’s about sticking to your guns, and being able to hold your own. And I’m not just talking about fighting. Regardless of skin color, car you drive, or alcohol of choice. (Though mine is whiskey and beer.) 
Everyone else will give you some BS about what it means to be a greaser and what not. But the only person who can tell you otherwise, is yourself. And me.
